A Quiet Spot

So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5:16

Have you ever been to a summer camp? Maybe the bunk beds were a little creaky and the bugs were a little buzzy...but there’s something special about being out in the woods, near a lake, or up in the mountains. Lots of people have felt closest to God while sitting around a campfire as the crickets chirped in the dark.Did you know Jesus loved to get away to quiet outdoor places too? Have you ever been to a summer camp? Maybe the bunk beds were a little creaky and the bugs were a little buzzy...but there’s something special about being out in the woods, near a lake, or up in the mountains. Lots of people have felt closest to God while sitting around a campfire as the crickets chirped in the dark.

Did you know Jesus loved to get away to quiet outdoor places too? The Bible says He “often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” Even though Jesus was busy helping crowds of people, He made time to slip away to a quiet spot to talk with His Father, God.

Being outside in God’s creation has a special way of opening up our hearts to Him. When you’re surrounded by trees and sky and the quiet, it’s easier to slow down and remember how big and good God is. The noise fades away, and you can just be with Him.

You don’t need to travel far to do this. Maybe it’s your backyard, a park, or a quiet bench. The point is to find a peaceful outdoor spot and use it to talk to God, just like Jesus did.

Take Action: This weekend, find your own quiet spot outside. Bring your Bible if you have one, or just bring yourself. Sit there for a few minutes and talk to God like you’re talking to a friend. Tell Him about your week, thank Him for something, and ask Him to help you. If Jesus made time to get away and pray, it’s definitely worth you doing it too!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?

I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
